    HJPCBiH delegation visited magistrate courts in Prijedor and Novi Grad

    Milorad Novkovic, President of the High Judicial and Prosecutirial Council BiH, Marija Anicic-Zgonjanin, incumbent President of the District Court in Banja Luka and  Admir Suljagić, Head of President's Office at the HJPCBiH visited Magistrate Court in Prijedor and Magistrate Court in Novi Grad on Friday 23.04.2010. 

    In conversation with the President of the Magistrate Court in Novi Grad and judges of this court, President Novkovic pointed out that positive results of the work of this court are apparent and that this court will very soon be up to date. 

    During visit to Prijedor, general meeting of the Magistrate Court judges was held when, among other things, President Novkovic held talks with judges of the Magistrate Court in Prijedor, learned about work conditions, presented data on promptness of the court including work on resolving old and delayed cases, carried out analysis of court performance and pointed out assessed personnel needs of the court and the HJPCBiH future plans. 

    Common opinion of all present is that priority objective is functioning of the court particularly in terms of shorter court proceedings using internal resources of the court, thus increasing credibility of the court and meeting expectation of citizens. In addition, they agreed that work on old and delayed cases was a priority as well as urgent an increase in the number of judges and legal officers.  

    Further more, it is necessary to find a suitable premises for the staff from the Branch Office Prijedor of the District Porsecutor's Office Banja Luka and the seat of the deputy at the Republic Public Attorney's Office in Prijedor, renovate run down court building, find suitable legal solution for communal and inheritance cases, improve the position of judges and take into consideration of establishing the court in Kozarska Dubica.  

    In the course of this visit, the HJPCBiH delegation met with the Head of Municipality Prijedor when opinions on successful cooperation so far were exchanged with representatives of local community and on future activities based on ongoing effective cooperation with a view to ensuring efficient judicial system for all citizens.
